Interestingly, I worked out alone for a few years. Did I lose weight? Absolutely. But, then I got involved in Boot Camp and worked out with others. Did this make a difference? Absolutely!

Having a community and/or a buddy system in place is a great way to help each other. So while it can be done alone – its much harder and I never realized this until I started working out with someone else.

My wife and I are involved in the Personal Video Bootcamp program and it provides the fun energy and structure that we need. And best of all – it’s together!

Speaking of the buddy system, I went to the grocery store last night (around 9pm) and thought I want I snack. I looked at dessert muffins larger than a softball and the ice cream and cookies – and really those aren’t food hooks for me. The thing is nothing really seemed to call to me as I went down the Hall of Temptation. So that was good – my tastes have changed, but at the same time I didn’t want to disappoint my wife who is working super hard on the program. So I had that, plus Kareem in my head telling me no carbs after 9pm, etc. Yeah, that buddy system helped and I left the store with what I needed – no snack – and I felt fine about it. How weird is that?!

Do you have your workout buddy? Let’s hear from you and how it’s working. How do you help each other?

Take care!
